Atlas Anvil – blemish

Atlas Anvil – blemish

$299.99 $240.00

These blemished anvils did not meet our quality control, but should still be fully usable.
Most have slight pitting on the edges, a couple have hardy issues, a few simply had an overzealous grinder soften the edges.
The faces are all in great shape

Built exclusively for bladesmiths in the style of a modified sawyers anvil, the Atlas Anvil brings our never-ending quest to create the most advanced, thought out products to the bladesmithing community. With clear focus given on practicality, shipping, and the needs of a bladesmith, we got rid of the horn and heel and put all the mass under the hammer. The edges have already been softened to 1/4″ and the radius around the hardie hole is 2″.

New anvils may require dressing. This is when a flap wheel on a grinder is used to polish the edges and face to your desired level of smoothness. We have already dressed the edges to 80 grit, which is adequate to prevent chipping of the hardened face edges. The face itself has been machined, but some smiths like to dress it with a 120 grit fine flap wheel.

Compare the performance of the Atlas Anvil to 120 lb. traditional anvils.
